Description

As the story progresses, it is revealed that Terminus also serves as a time ship whose energy source became unstable whilst stuck in a time vortex, causing an explosion that started “Event One” aka The Big Bang, and should the remaining tank jettison, the universe would end – created with an explosion and finished by one too. It’s an ambitious story that takes place in Amsterdam, a rarity for Doctor Who, and on Gallifrey, which hadn’t been seen in such a scale since Season 15’s The Invasion of Time. While the Fourth Doctor and Romana are trapped in a time eddy, the First, Second, Third and Fifth Doctors – together with many of their companions – are lured by a mysterious figure to the forbidden Death Zone on Gallifrey. All episodes have been newly remastered from the best available sources including original film elements for The Five Doctors. However, a few of the CGI effects are missing from random jumps, maybe two or three, a little jarring as it's not consistent when they're missing.

In that special one-off episode, the Fifth Doctor joins forces with three of his predecessors – Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee and Richard Hurndall standing in for William Hartnell – when a mysterious enemy traps past incarnations of the Doctor and companions in the Death Zone on Gallifrey. Commentary with Peter Davison, Isla Blair, Eric Saward; alternate commentary on [1] with Tony Virgo. BBC Studios continues to offer Doctor Who fans the opportunity to build their own home archive on Blu-ray with a limited edition NINE DISC box set of the 20th Season from 1983, starring Peter Davison as the Fifth Doctor. One of the Eternals, the vicious Captain Wrack, is in league with the Black Guardian, however, and will stop at nothing to win.
