Description

Fill a shallow container with high-drainage soil, water it well, then drain it so no standing water remains.

They are climbing or epiphytic plants that cling to trees in the wild and make excellent indoor hanging plants.

This product was designed and produced by our fantastic volunteers, recycling items that would normally go into landfill. They are ideal if you want small, easy-care, fascinating and even quirky plants to enjoy in your home. Place it in a new, larger container with a the same type of soil, pack the soil around the cactus, and water. Grow your own Mexican giant cactus, Pachycereus Pringlei this is the tallest and most iconic variety in the world.

Cacti and succulents are usually relatively trouble-free, if the correct growing conditions are provided. The most well-known decorative forest cactus is the Christmas cactus, which is native to Brazil, and blooms in red, pink, purple, and yellow. Just be sure to use a proprietary cactus compost, or 2 parts by volume of John Innes No 2, with 1 part horticultural grit or sharp sand mixed in, and top off with a mulch of horticultural grit or fine gravel. This can be done by placing seeds in moistened peat and then storing them in the refrigerator until they crack open (in approximately four to six weeks). Forgetful gardeners rejoice - it's now easy to be proud of a thriving plant, no matter your skill level.Quirky and characterful, these popular drought-tolerant plants thrive indoors and sometimes even outdoors. Kevin Smith, Gardeners' World Magazine, explains how to create an attractive display using cactus plants, in our No Fuss video guide. Just a friendly reminder: these little seeds might need some TLC, so why not give them a cosy home in soil ASAP?
