The results is a superior quality cognac, since 1962 the only official supplier of cognac to the British monarchy. the French Cognac With A British Soul – Created in 1763 By Thomas Hine of Dorset It Is Proudly One of the oldest Houses in the Region. Here, the aim is not to mask the flavours with dominant woody tones, but to enhance them as part of a delicate exchange between the eau-de-vie and oak staves. Hine VSOP Cognac is a perfect blend of eaux-de-vie coming exclusively from the Grande and Petite Champagne with about 60% of the blend being the Grande Champagne variety.

There are some very serious Cognacs from this house, and the pedigree is evident in 'H by Hine' too, having been well blended from some special parcels from the two Champagnes, Cognac's best sub-regions. This blend has been crafted specially for cocktails, delivering the Cognac’s taste and liveliness without overpowering the mix. What marks Hine apart is that the casks are sent to the United Kingdom to mature a different temperature and humidity than other Cognacs, creating a special vitality in the drink. The House of Hine creates its identity from the heart of two Premier Crus, the Grande and the Petite Champagnes. Some of the data that are collected include the number of visitors, their source, and the pages they visit anonymously.

In 1962 we were granted the Royal Warrant by Appointment to Her Majesty the Queen Elizabeth II, making Hine the official supplier of cognac to the British monarchy.

The House of Hine has two birth dates: 1763, when the distillery was founded on the right bank of the river Charente, and 1817, when Thomas Hine gave his name to this House. Hine owns 80 acres of vines in Grande Champagne that supply 20% of their Grande Champagne needs, allowing a strict control from field to bottle. Family tradition dictates that Hine cognacs are aged far longer than the minimum time required by French law. Each and every one of them is a liquid snapshot of a particular year, echoing the elaboration of fine wines and champagnes. Hine's philosophy of creating the highest quality Cognacs respects the Maison’s heritage and terroir and they have been the sole official supplier of Cognac to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II since 1962.
